Scope of the role


Responsibilities:

  • Develop analytics solutions to offer insights and transparency across new and existing domains to management, traders, and quants
  • Establish data ingestion processes to capture and store substantial volumes of data from in-house trading and external market data systems
  • Enhance and optimize the data access framework for real-time dashboards, execution analytics, and market microstructure research
  • Create and implement complex event processing (CEP) systems to monitor data anomalies and generate signals
  • Enhance the robustness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of system components
  • Engage in the full software development cycle from analysis to testing and release
  • Collaborate with traders, quants, and other proficient KDB+ developers

Requirements:

  • Position based in the UK
  • Minimum of 4 years of commercial experience in KDB+ development
  • Proficient in clean and efficient coding techniques
  • Self-motivated, confident, and proactive
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong desire to learn with acute attention to detail

Proficiency in most of the following areas:

  • KDB+/q
  • Linux and bash scripting
  • Level 1 / 2 market data
  • Big data handling, analysis, and visualization
  • Continuous integration

Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:

  • Python or Java
  • Kafka or Redis
  • KX Dashboard or Grafana
  • Docker or Kubernetes
  • Cloud-based deployment of KDB+
  • Low latency or high-frequency trading
  • Familiarity with Crypto, FX, or Options
