Overview

The Wallets & Funds system handles the safe custody of bitcoin deposits that serve as margin for traders on the platform. BitMEX is expanding its funds and wallets division to elevate the security and efficiency of deposits and accommodate an increasing user base in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain software for processing customer cryptocurrency deposits and facilitating secure withdrawals in a high-uptime environment.
  • Enhance test coverage of existing codebases and engage in test-driven development to uphold quality standards.
  • Contribute to architecting new cryptocurrency and wallet infrastructure using modern standards.

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience collaborating in a team setting on Python-based projects.
  • Proficiency in code review and pull request-based workflows.
  • Skilled in writing software utilizing a variety of network protocols with consideration for appropriate threading/locking models or asynchronous design principles.

Good to have

  • Proficiency in shipping and deploying container-based software.
  • Experience handling large datasets in Python, possibly using numpy or scipy tooling.
  • Advanced understanding of cryptocurrency transactions, including scripts, signatures, utxo set, proof of work, fees, and blocks.
  • Familiarity with type-checked and well-formatted Python, pytest, CI/CD, and defensive software security practices.
