The Marketing Manager will be a key player in developing and executing our marketing strategy in conjunction with the Head of Growth. Driving brand awareness, helping to co-market ecosystem projects, and acquiring new users in the crypto space are some of the primary goals for this role. We're seeking a highly motivated and autonomous individual who thrives in a constantly evolving environment, demonstrates exceptional organizational skills and a strong ability to execute, and is passionate about the blockchain and crypto industry.
We’re looking for someone senior & experienced but who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. You will need experience developing high-level marketing strategies, but will also need to be willing to execute on those strategies with very little external help. If you feel you’ve “outgrown” tasks like writing tweets or coordinating a speaking slot at an event, this role isn’t for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Work with the Head of Growth to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with our company's goals and objectives. Drive initiatives that increase brand visibility, user adoption, and market share.
- Pre-launch, this will likely mostly be focused on growing brand awareness, educating our target audience about our technology, building a community, etc. Implement these strategies on an ongoing basis.
- Brand Ownership:
- Elevate our brand presence through innovative campaigns, strategic partnerships, and high-impact content. Ensure brand consistency across all channels and touch points.
- You will be the owner of our brand and how it is presented and perceived.
- Content & Public Communications:
- Manage our blog, social media, and website. This includes creating content and/or outsourcing content creation where necessary.
- Oversee additional digital marketing efforts, including influencer marketing, newsletter, etc.
- Continually measure & monitor analytics across our online platforms. Utilize analytics to measure campaign success and optimize strategies for maximum ROI.
- Market Research:
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the company’s market segment and web3 more broadly. Leverage insights to inform marketing strategies, outreach efforts, and product development.
- Team Leadership:
- You will have the opportunity to help build and mentor a high-performing marketing team. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with product, partnerships, and executive teams to align marketing initiatives with company objectives. Engage with the crypto community to build brand loyalty and advocacy.
- Events:
- Collaborate with the Head of Growth on event strategy and execution. Includes: high-level event strategy, assessing and managing sponsorship opportunities, hosting side events, arranging speaking slots, and managing logistics on the ground.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience
- 3+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years in the crypto/blockchain industry or a related technology field. Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
- Previous experience managing growth/marketing teams.
- Previous experience at web3 companies (preferably infra).
- You have a philosophy/formula when it comes to marketing, and you know how to adapt this to Essential’s goals.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and tactics, especially how these channels are used in the web3 industry. You should be an expert in the unique strategies required to grow web3 projects.
- Excellent communication and writing skills (in English), with experience creating marketing collateral, such as blogs, case studies, and whitepapers.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive growth/marketing decisions.
- A good eye for design, and passable skills developing basic brand collateral on Figma.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

- Genuine passion for blockchain & web3 technologies.
- Wide network of connections and professional relationships in the blockchain industry.
