Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise dynamic engineering teams, including overseeing daily operations, facilitating scrums and retrospectives, and organizing team events.
- Create and maintain APIs, user interfaces, services, and systems, and actively engage in coding and supporting engineers.
- Offer technical and architectural guidance for platform development, design, integration, testing, and upkeep.
- Lead agile software processes, implement industry best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders to align team contributions with company goals and technology roadmaps.
- Manage team's full lifecycle activities, mentor, recruit, train, retain and evaluate engineers.
- Advocate for engineering team within the organization, emphasizing technological opportunities and operational constraints to project development.
- Manage technical debt to maintain responsive pace of development and reduce production incidents.
- Contribute to Circle's engineering initiatives and liaise with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in technical leadership roles.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages like Go, Java, and/or JavaScript.
- Extensive hands-on experience in designing secure and scalable products, with active coding involvement.
- Passion for coaching team members and fostering leadership development.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to make tough decisions and trade-offs.
- Experience in managing remote teams and thriving in a fast-paced, autonomous work environment.
Additional Information:
- Position is open for immediate PERM sponsorship.
- Compensation is determined based on experience, skill set, and other organizational needs.
- Base Salary Range: $182,500 - $240,000 with an annual bonus target of 15%.
