Data & Software Engineer Intern

We are currently seeking an intern to support our data engineering team and contribute to optimizing our data platform and maintaining robust data pipelines. The ideal candidate is a software enthusiast who thrives in fast-paced and cutting-edge environments (blockchain being a key data source for us). In this role, you will collaborate with data analysts and data scientists on various initiatives.
This internship presents a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience across the spectrum of modern data stack components, encompassing software engineering best practices, DevOps, Cloud infrastructure, legal compliance, and more.
Start date: Immediate Internship duration: 6 months
Your role includes:
- Extracting data from diverse sources and implementing necessary transformations
- Conducting code reviews to uphold the standard of code quality
- Monitoring data pipelines and addressing any discrepancies discovered
- Contributing to the migration of existing pipelines onto AWS
- Enhancing the data engineering stack with your perspective, as we are receptive to fresh insights
Technology stack utilized by the team:
- ELT process involving custom development (Python, SQL), Fivetran, Stitch, Adverity, along with dbt
- Cloud services primarily through AWS
- Data Warehouse operations handled by Redshift, with an ongoing migration to Snowflake
- Orchestration managed using Airflow
- Business Intelligence tools incorporating Tableau and Mixpanel
- Version control facilitated by Github
- Infrastructure as Code bolstered by Terraform
Personal requirements:
• Proficiency in English • Proficiency in SQL & Python • Competency in conflict resolution in Git
Bonus skills:
- Experience with Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, and Github Actions
- Knowledge about cryptocurrency
- Prior experience working with Cloud infrastructure, especially AWS
