The Role
As a data engineer at Messari, you will collaborate with our internal research and product teams to enhance and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture. Your key responsibilities include supporting data initiatives for analysts and ensuring consistent delivery of data architecture across various research projects. Your primary objective is to facilitate smooth and seamless access to data for our analysts.
This is a full-time remote position that is open to candidates worldwide. Our globally distributed team follows efficient remote work processes and seeks to connect in person whenever possible.
Responsibilities
- Construct the necessary infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse blockchains.
- Assist in coding, designing, deploying, and debugging Python/Go tools for data aggregation, processing, and analysis.
- Automate internal data analysis processes and contribute to enhancing Messari's future data science endeavors.
- Collaborate on developing, automating, and maintaining pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Aid in creating educational content to enhance the technical competencies of the research team.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python, SQL (familiarity with Dune Analytics is preferred), and version control systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in SQL along with experience in building processes that support data transformation, data structures, and workload management.
- Strong understanding of blockchain infrastructure for data extraction from both EVM and non-EVM chains would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or Go and version control software (Git) is essential for the role.
- Fundamental knowledge of protocol mechanisms is a prerequisite for this position.
Salary Range (based on experience)
$125,000 - $185,000
