Responsibilities:

Joining the Security and Technology Risk Management team, your role involves supporting the day-to-day functioning of Circle's Technology Risk Management initiative. Collaborating closely with primary Technology departments, you will identify, evaluate, prioritize, mitigate, and report on the organization's technological risks. The objective is to fortify Circle's resilience by proactively assessing and mitigating internal and external factors that could impact the achievement of our objectives. Tasks include policy administration, issue tracking, change management, risk appraisal, resiliency planning, technology platform oversight, third-party monitoring, and partnership facilitation.

Projects include:

  • Collaborating with Technology teams and the Chief Technology Officer to drive Enterprise Risk Management programs such as issue management, policy enforcement, risk evaluation, third-party risk mitigation, and training.
  • Challenging and overseeing technology practices to identify and mitigate risks, influence the technology strategy, and advance the program's execution.
  • Assessing enterprise-level technology risks, supporting risk control establishment, and advising on risk management needs.
  • Utilizing deep expertise in systems, data architecture, software development, IT operations, and technical controls to anticipate technological risks within the business.
  • Leading risk assessments, monitoring technology risks in daily business operations, and managing technology-related issues.
  • Providing ongoing risk management support, engaging proactively with Technology stakeholders in risk discussions, and advising on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and acceptance.
  • Offering insights to help Technology evaluate current risk exposure, propose mitigation measures, and align with corporate risk objectives.
  • Providing expertise on the Technology and Security Framework, delivering awareness on risk-related matters to employees and relevant third parties.
  • Conducting periodic reviews, executive-level reporting, and recommending policy/tool updates to adapt to evolving environments.
  • Collaborating with the ERM team to address Technology risks and their correlation with Security, Legal, Privacy, and other operational risks at Circle.
  • Supporting the Security and Technology Specialized Risk Committee in monitoring the Technology Risk program's health and reporting risk monitoring results.

Requirements:

  • Possess 7+ years of experience in Technology risk management, with a preference for Security, in a financial services, payments, or technology setting.
  • Acquainted with Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and quantitative risk frameworks (e.g., FAIR).
  • Familiarity with blockchain and digital payments essential.
  • Proficient in embedding risk culture within a rapidly growing business environment, particularly in technology or financial services.
  • Mastery of Google Suite, Slack, and Apple MacOS; bachelor's degree in Technology, Risk Management, or Business preferred.
  • Security certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISM) a plus.
