Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of dynamic engineering teams, including requirements grooming, scrums, retrospectives, and team gatherings.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize APIs, user-facing interfaces, services, and systems.
  • Actively participate in coding activities and provide direct support to engineering team members.
  • Offer technical and architectural guidance for platform development, integration, testing, and maintenance.
  • Lead agile software processes, introduce industry best practices, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technology roadmaps, set product release schedules, and drive team success.
  • Manage full lifecycle of team operations, including recruitment, mentoring, training, performance evaluations, and retention.
  • Advocate for the engineering team within the organization, fostering effective communication and addressing technology opportunities and constraints.
  • Address technical debt to maintain development velocity and minimize production incidents.
  • Contribute to Circle's engineering management team and support engineering-wide initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Go, Java, and/or Javascript coding languages (3+ years).
  • Hands-on experience in designing and deploying secure, scalable products and services.
  • Desire to continue hands-on coding activities and mentor team members.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to make challenging decisions.
  • Experience managing remote teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-autonomy work environment.

Additional Information:

This role may be eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates. Compensation packages may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs. Base Pay Range: $182,500 - $240,000
Annual Bonus Target: 15%
