Description
You will be part of the team as a Senior Unity Developer, contributing to the development of high-quality indie games for PC and console at Ex Populus, a forward-thinking game development studio led by experienced industry professionals from renowned companies. Currently working on two exciting projects, Final Form and LAMOverse, the company focuses on creating top-tier indie games.
Location: Remote, Work From Home
Ex Populus operates with a fully remote team, engaging in 2-3 annual meetups utilizing Google Meets for structured meetings.
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical solutions to enhance the editor, tools, and tool chain, ensuring high performance and usability.
- Maintain and update the engine and tools in line with development pipeline changes.
- Collaborate with the content team to implement new game features and services while prioritizing player comfort and game performance.
- Enhance existing game features as per design requests.
- Identify and communicate technical risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Write optimized, robust, and maintainable code.
- Work closely with producers, product managers, and designers in an Agile environment.
- Translate design concepts into playable games through coding.
- Develop AI for non-player characters, custom collision & physics systems, UI, HUD, and Menu elements.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Create and update project and system documentation.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Unity game development experience.
- Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language, preferably C#.
- Strong understanding of gameplay programming and software design patterns.
- Experience in unit testing, TDD, and code coverage maintenance.
- Contributed to the release of at least two PC titles developed with Unity.
- Experience in delivering games for PC / Console platforms.
- Willingness to work with new APIs and adapt to design changes in an iterative setting.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical discussions.
- Passion for learning, personal growth, positive work environment, and gaming.
- Availability to work 8 hours per day (Monday-Friday) with at least 4 hours overlapping with US/CAN West Coast time zone (Pacific Time).
- Proficiency in English, the operational language.
