Position Overview

The Lead of Risk Strategy is a senior role tasked with formulating, implementing, and overseeing fraud risk management initiatives. This position concentrates on improving risk detection capabilities, refining risk frameworks, and aligning risk strategies with business growth objectives. The Lead will spearhead innovation in fraud prevention, risk detection, and compliance cooperation to ensure platform security while supporting sustainable business expansion.

Supervising key risk performance indicators, leading strategic projects, and promoting continuous enhancement in risk governance and operational efficiency are central responsibilities of this role.

Responsibilities

Risk Strategy Development and Execution
Develop and implement comprehensive risk strategies to combat fraud risks across the platform and user base.
Expand detection capabilities for vital risk areas like unauthorized account access, credit card fraud, and emerging scam patterns.
Support new business ventures and product launches by devising customized risk approaches and controls.
Enhance risk strategy alignment with engineering teams to optimize risk prevention measures.
Performance Management and Metrics
Track and report on crucial risk key performance indicators to enhance protection and reduce losses.
Supervise risk strategy management to maintain quality and stability.
Improve risk cost efficiency by managing vendor costs and enhancing risk strategy efficiency.
Compliance and Regulatory Collaboration
Assist in transaction screening, monitoring, and other compliance prerequisites through project management and innovative solutions.
Drive strategy initiatives to refine transaction screening and monitoring processes, reducing complexity while ensuring compliance effectiveness.
Collaborate closely with compliance teams to explore and support new business scenarios, ensuring risk controls align with regulatory expectations.
Team Leadership and Organizational Development
Lead the risk strategy team, driving organizational changes to support business growth.
Cultivate an agile and responsive culture within the team to address evolving risk challenges efficiently.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in risk management, fraud prevention, or strategic roles in fintech, financial services, or technology sectors, particularly in the crypto industry.
Proven expertise in developing and executing risk strategies yielding measurable savings and operational enhancements.
Strong grasp of fraud detection methods and compliance standards.
Experience managing complex projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Compliance, Data Science, Engineering, and Product.
Demonstrated leadership skills to facilitate organizational change and foster high-performing teams.
Data-driven decision-making proficiency, with familiarity in AI/ML applications in risk management preferred.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
