Job Summary:

Limit Break is in search of a skilled Senior Mobile Game Designer with a background in free-to-play (F2P) games, possessing extensive knowledge of game design principles and current trends in mobile gaming.

As a Senior Game Designer, you will tackle various design challenges related to game mechanics, rewards, monetization strategies, and social aspects. Your role involves contributing to product development, conceptualizing innovative experiences for our mobile, cross-platform, and Web3-enabled games, and collaborating with live services to optimize game content using data-driven design methodologies.

This position offers you the opportunity to design features, events, and core mechanics critical for gaming success. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the Design Lead throughout the development cycle — from concept ideation and documentation to playtesting and implementation, allowing you to shape new gaming experiences from concept to realization.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish processes for designing new game levels and engaging live events, incorporating visual storytelling elements and interactive elements like minigames and quests
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop concepts and storyboards for game levels, utilizing visual narratives for effective storytelling
Demonstrate expert understanding of showcasing story progression through gameplay mechanics and design
Create, document, and communicate game mechanics, rules, and systems that are aligned with the overall project vision
Prototype and refine gameplay ideas by soliciting feedback, conducting playtests, and enhancing the player experience
Design 3D environments, animations, and cinematics to innovate compelling visual narratives within mobile games
Leverage assets (like models, animations, audio, etc.) in the Unity engine for game development
Collaborate with Production to establish a content pipeline and ensure content meets specified design standards

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years experience in the video games industry
Proven ability in designing engaging game mechanics, levels, quests, and events, with a strong focus on visual storytelling and character animations
Sound knowledge of 3D environments, animations, and cinematics for creating visual narratives in mobile games
Proficiency in using Unity to build 3D game scenes and environments
Experience in designing game mechanics, rewards, ranking systems, monetization strategies, and social features

Desirable Qualifications:

Previous experience with live game services and managing content pipelines
Awareness of emerging technologies trends in the gaming industry
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and hands-on experience in asset implementation
Passion for designing innovative games tailored to a new player market
Bonus points for designing a F2P mobile game from scratch
