About the Role:

Join Limit Break as a Staff Unity Engineer and lead an exciting new venture in developing a cutting-edge mid-core, 3D mobile game. Collaborate with a dynamic team to craft and refine the game prototype, scale the project from pre-production to full production, and work with leads and directors across different disciplines.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical direction and guidance to the team, making key architectural decisions and ensuring best practices are followed.
Coding and reviewing code, optimizing performance, and resolving complex technical challenges.
Oversee the development process, set milestones, and ensure project goals are met.
Lead the design and implementation of a new Unity 3D game project from initial prototype to full production.
Collaborate closely with design leads and team members to iterate on the game prototype rapidly.
Work with various teams to identify focus areas and efficient solutions for each development phase.
Prioritize tasks effectively and ensure smooth project progress by taking on different roles if necessary.
Enhance processes, pipelines, and best practices for game development.
Conduct code and architecture reviews to uphold high standards.
Integrate new technologies and techniques for efficient workflow and create maintainable games and applications.

Qualifications:

B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science or related field.
8-10 years of software engineering experience, particularly in live service mobile games.
5 years of Unity 3D game development experience.
Strong initiative, ownership, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with game development from prototype to launch, especially with Unity.
Proficiency in system architecture, software design, and production software development best practices.

Nice to have/ideal candidate:

Passion for gaming and strong game design sensibilities.
Understanding of Unity 3D game and tools development, including live service tooling.
Knowledge of available Unity plugins and assets for game development.
Experience in Free-to-Play (F2P) gaming and AWS/cloud-native applications.
Server development experience (e.g., Go, Java, Python) and interest in blockchain and game development trends.
