We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our team working on the JTX trading app. JTX operates on a high-speed market infrastructure on Solana that we have developed in-house. The primary objective of this role is to enhance the user experience by making the speed of the platform tangible for traders.
Currently, JTX is live, having been developed by two frontend engineers. As the third member of the team, your responsibilities will include fortifying the existing system, ensuring scalability under real market conditions, expanding to mobile platforms, and optimizing the user interface.
Working within a small team that has already found product-market fit, you can expect a high level of autonomy and influence over technical decisions and product development. Our team emphasizes rapid execution and quality, prioritizing progress and attention to detail.
About the Position
In this role, you will take ownership of the JTX platform across web and mobile interfaces, focusing on order processing, market data display, charting, position tracking, trade execution, onboarding processes, and underlying wallet functionalities. This position is ideal for a well-rounded engineer with a keen eye for design, as you will collaborate closely with design, product, and infrastructure teams to make enduring architectural decisions.
The technology stack includes React 19 with TypeScript on Next.js, Jotai, Tailwind, TradingView Advanced Charts, and WebSocket integration, with plans for native mobile app development.
Challenges
As part of the team, you will tackle technical challenges such as ensuring real-time data freshness, optimizing performance for data-heavy displays, maintaining robust security practices, managing shipping volumes, and maintaining consistency across web and mobile platforms while enhancing execution quality.
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining the JTX client for both web and mobile, implementing real-time trading interfaces, managing market data streams efficiently, designing and integrating wallet processes, shaping the foundational components of the platform, and driving architectural decisions to accommodate growth in both codebase and user base.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with meticulous attention to detail, a minimum of 5 years' experience in frontend development, expertise in React and TypeScript, mobile development proficiency, strong fundamentals in browser performance, security-oriented mindset, ability to effectively refactor live codebases, and a knack for balancing business and engineering priorities.
Desired Background
Candidates with experience in trading terminals, consumer fintech apps, data visualization, Solana or EVM development, and TypeScript design system maintenance are encouraged to apply.
Salary Range: $175,000 - $195,000 annually
