#43 MacDonald St

43 MacDonald Street is an extension to a heritage dwelling in Erskinville-Sydney. The objective here was to attach to the existing Victorian Filigree house, while maintaining a distinction between the two volumes, which stand in complementary contrast with one another. The project involved heritage and environmental impact assessments resulting from the added volume, and alterations to the existing terrace house.

Multi-purpose Communal House

The idea was to create a versatile space that can be easily transfigured to host different functions. Folding partitions allow for a rectangular configuration to emerge from the otherwise circular layout when needed. As the partitions close, temporary stowing compartments are automatically generated.

Food Forest Cabin

The challenge here was to create an interior space that is connected to the outside, while maintaining adequate thermal control, and privacy. To this end low-e triple glazing was specified, in conjunction with an extended overhang, and wood-chop gabion systems, which double-up as privacy screens.

High-end Villa

High-end villa with a floor area of 4,250 m², designed by Erga and Rbeiz for interiors. My contribution in this project was centered around interior design modifications related to internal marble flooring and cladding, furniture layouts, furniture and sanitary fixture selections, as well as interior design and architecture shop drawing production.

Wakra Boutique Hotels

Wakra Boutique Hotels is an adaptive reuse project over a 28,000 m² plot area, that transformed heritage quarters at the heart of the old Souq in Wakra, Qatar, into a couple of 5-star boutique hotels. The design is by Dar Al-Handasah, and my contributions to the project mainly revolved around design development and resolution, as well as managing IFC and shop drawing production for architecture, ID, and landscaping.

Voco Business Centre

For the Business Hub at Voco-Dubai, inspiration was drawn from nature. Carefully-selected motifs, colours, and tonalities, in addition to a generous, yet easy to maintain, helping of indoor greenery, were intended to infuse the interior atmosphere with the essence of the outdoors. This resulted is a combination of warm neutrals; earthy tones, olive greens, rustic greys, and tone-on-tone whites, with a helping of oil-treated wood linear wood patterns, and distressed brass.
