I provide professional artwork condition reports and conservation documentation based on remote visual examination of images and information provided by the client. This service includes reviewing artwork images and information, assessing observable condition, identifying and documenting visible deterioration, damage, losses, abrasion, cracking, deformation, previous interventions, and other observable issues supported by the submitted material, and preparing structured professional documentation and written assessment. Artwork images may also be prepared or adjusted for the report.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
The client should provide, where available:
- Overall images of the complete artwork.
- High-resolution detail images of areas requiring closer examination or specifically requested by the client, especially damaged, deteriorated, altered, or questionable areas.
- Images of the reverse, the edges where the painting textile or painting support connects to the stretcher frame, the frame, structural support, or mounting system.
- Basic artwork information: title, artist, date/period, technique, materials, support, dimensions, and current location.
- Information on previous conservation/restoration treatments and known interventions.
- Relevant technical/scientific documentation, such as conservation reports, laboratory results, microscopy, UV, IR, X-radiography, or material analysis.
- The client's specific questions or assessment objectives.
The assessment is based on the material provided by the client. Areas that are not sufficiently visible or documented may remain outside the scope.
REMOTE ASSESSMENT LIMITATION
No physical or in-person examination of the original artwork is included unless separately agreed. The assessment is limited to conditions visible and reasonably observable in the submitted images and documentation.
Instrumental or laboratory examinations are not included. Relevant reports, test results, technical images, or other documentation provided by the client may, however, be considered solely on the basis of the supplied documentation.
Services requiring extensive analysis, specialized research, additional technical interpretation, or other work beyond this Gig may require an additional fee, agreed with the client before the work begins.
SCOPE OF THE $300 FIXED-PRICE SERVICE
The $300 Fixed Price covers one standard remote condition assessment of a single artwork and professional documentation based on the material provided by the client.
The service is limited to one artwork and one clearly defined assessment scope. Extensive research, complex historical/stylistic research, laboratory or instrumental examination, on-site examination, extensive restoration planning, multiple artworks, or documentation substantially beyond this scope may require a separately agreed fee.
All assessments are prepared according to the type of artwork, available evidence, client's objectives, and actual project complexity.
