The service focuses on identifying and documenting observable deterioration, damage, losses, abrasion, cracking, deformation, previous interventions, and other visible condition issues. I can prepare structured damage maps and technical visual documentation to clearly record the location and character of observed conditions.
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
Where available, the client should provide:
- Overall images of the complete artwork.
- High-resolution detail images of areas requiring closer examination.
- Images of the reverse, edges, support, stretcher, frame, or mounting system where relevant.
- Basic artwork information, including title, artist, date or period, technique, materials, support, and dimensions.
- Information about previous conservation or restoration treatments and known interventions.
- The client's specific questions or assessment objectives.
REMOTE ASSESSMENT LIMITATION
The assessment is based on the images and information supplied by the client. No physical or in-person examination of the original artwork is included unless separately agreed.
Instrumental or laboratory examinations are not included. Technical or scientific documentation supplied by the client may be considered as supporting evidence.
SCOPE OF THE FIXED-PRICE SERVICE
The fixed price covers one standard remote technical examination and damage mapping assessment of one artwork based on the available visual material.
Extensive research, on-site examination, laboratory or instrumental analysis, or work substantially beyond the defined scope may require a separately agreed fee.
