Position Overview:

The DeFi Researcher Internship is a remote opportunity suitable for candidates residing in Hong Kong during term time. The role involves advancing research efforts in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols by conducting in-depth analyses and exploring innovative solutions for on-chain execution and trading needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough research on cutting-edge DeFi ecosystems, utilizing quantitative analysis to uncover emerging trends.
Investigate decentralized protocols to pinpoint strategic opportunities and develop and implement quantitative trading strategies.
Create tools for monitoring and analyzing trading system performance and evaluating market conditions.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a quantitative or computing degree with a focus on research, preferably at the postgraduate level (PhD/Masters).
Deep interest in blockchain and cryptocurrency, actively engaging with Web3 communities.
Proven ability to conduct independent research with a strong analytical mindset.
Proficiency in Python and Solidity, with experience in web3-related libraries and smart contract development.
Strong quantitative skills and a dedication to upholding professional standards in the field.
Minimum of a 3-month internship or full-time role at a proprietary trading firm or hedge fund as a Quantitative Researcher/Trader, with previous involvement in alpha-related projects (excluding school projects or data analyst experience).
