Overview
Be part of our dynamic team at BitMEX, where we place significant focus on driving compliance standards within the virtual asset industry. Join us in collaborating closely with the Head of Market Surveillance to enhance our compliance program.
Your primary responsibilities will involve investigating market abuse alerts, reporting on a global scale, and contributing to the development and improvement of our AML and Trade Surveillance compliance initiatives to ensure regulatory adherence. Day-to-day tasks include transaction monitoring, conducting in-depth investigations, and producing detailed reports to support our compliance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the implementation and advancement of AML/Trade Surveillance transaction monitoring systems and procedures.
- Review market surveillance alerts as per established protocols and take necessary actions.
- Conduct customer outreach during investigation processes when required.
- Report suspicious activities to the Head of Market Surveillance for escalation.
- Investigate alerts displaying unusual behavior patterns.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and insights for activities needing further scrutiny by the internal FIU.
- Provide regular statistical and analytical reports to management.
Qualifications
- Deep comprehension of financial markets, particularly in derivatives trading.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in trade surveillance or 3 years in AML transaction monitoring, preferably in the crypto exchange sector.
- Strong financial crime investigative skills, with a proven ability to identify patterns of suspicious behavior.
- Excellent self-initiative and global market exposure.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English.
- Passion for virtual asset financial services.
- Compliance certification (e.g., ICA Diploma/ACAMS) desirable.
- Familiarity with blockchain transaction analytics monitoring advantageous.
- Knowledge of data manipulation and visualization tools like SQL queries and Tableau.
