The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Team. Your task scope will include design and implementation of the zkSync smart contract platform: zero-knowledge-proof-friendly virtual machine, protocol full node optimized for high-load, p2p network, consensus, etc.
This role is full-time with a strong preference for candidates located within the broader US or EU.

What We Look For in You
5+ years in back-end development
Driven by passion, curiosity, and desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world
Fluency in Rust, C++, Scala, Java or Go - we work primarily with Rust, but prior experience with this language is not mandatory
Some functional programming experience or or exposure with languages like Haskell
Comprehensive knowledge of the tradeoffs made between different data storage systems i.e. Postgres, mySQL, mongoDB
Deep understanding of software engineering best-practices
Ownership mindset and a track record of successfully accomplished projects
In-depth knowledge of common algorithms, data structures, and their computational and memory complexities
Experience implementing data structures and algorithms from scratch
Experience in cryptography/high-load/protocols design is a big plus
Fluent written and spoken English

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Protocol Engineer with strong knowledge of Ethereum and the EVM to join our Core Team. Your scope will include design and implementation for the zkSync smart contract platform: a zero-knowledge-proof-friendly virtual machine. This team is responsible for the evolution of our protocol and works at both L1 (including our core contracts, verification contracts, and bridge) and at L2, helping shape the direction of zkSync 2.0.
What You'll Be Doing
Joining the team responsible for the design and implementation of the zkSync smart contract platform: a zero-knowledge-proof-friendly virtual machine
Developing at L1 and L2, including system contracts (implemented in Solidity and Yul) and server side changes
Shaping the future of the protocol through research, design, prototyping, engineering, and discussion with external partners
Conducting independent research in your area of ownership, design, implement and document solutions, and potentially leading a team

The Product 
Previous compilers for smart contracts were usually written from scratch. That meant reinventing the wheel, a poor optimization pipeline, and lack of tools. We aim to fix this and deliver production-quality toolchains and a better development experience to our customers. That’s why we use LLVM, follow LLVM development practices, and upstream our fixes. In particular, we strongly prefer to reuse well-written and decently-tested code.
The Role
Doing even better testing is where you come in. Smart contract compiler bugs can cause our customers to lose currency, so thoughtful and comprehensive testing is essential. Complete testing of a blockchain programming language is impossible, so the ability to plan and prioritise the most important areas to test is crucial. Enjoyment of software testing and bug filing is required.
What You'll Be Doing
Adapting and/or creating compiler correctness tests
Maintaining and supplementing testing infrastructure
Contributing to, and criticizing, test plan(s).
Requirements collection and documentation criticism.
Working with developers to decide how each feature is best validated.
Implementing test cases.
Identifying and reporting weaknesses in current processes.
Initial investigation of correctness and performance issues; efficiently isolating, clearly reporting, and diligently tracking bugs

The Role
We're looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to help grow our ecosystem of third-party developers, projects, and companies that leverage zkSync infrastructure for their businesses. This role plays a key part in our business development strategy and will own the decision of the best approach to tackle our top partners’ needs, including developing proofs of concept or outsourcing some of the work.

What You'll Be Doing
Develop a strong understanding and the value proposition zkSync can bring to large projects and Enterprise companies
Work closely with the Business Development team to help partners understand how zkSync can help solve their business needs
Lead the Partner's success squad, including internal developers as well as outsourced teams
Define the best architecture to enable integrations and new use cases with partners
Hands-on development to ensure we deliver integrations and proof of concepts
Actively participate in common team meetings: daily standups, demo, retrospective, planning, grooming, estimation etc
