THE OPPORTUNITY

We are in search of a Head of DevOps to take charge of platforms, infrastructure, and delivery pipelines to ensure the secure and reliable deployment of software for our clients. This is a senior leadership position with a global scope overseeing regional DevOps teams. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Engineering, you will build and lead the function, establish standards for engineering teams, and maintain accountability for the reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness of a multi-region cloud infrastructure.

While staying technically proficient to assess architecture effectively, your primary focus will be on leading a team to maximize output rather than coding individually.

Occasional travel, primarily within the UK, may be required for team collaboration, avoiding prolonged periods away from home.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Developing and evolving the DevOps strategy into a business-aligned roadmap

Managing shared cloud infrastructure, tools, and delivery pipelines for all engineering teams

Leading a DevOps function across multiple regions to ensure consistent standards

Ensuring infrastructure meets expected security and compliance standards while providing transparent cost visibility

Establishing a self-service platform for engineering teams to independently manage provisioning, building, and shipping processes

Overseeing team growth, hiring, and incident response management for shared infrastructure issues

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Extensive senior leadership experience in managing a DevOps or platform function across various teams or regions

Proven track record of effectively managing engineers and driving their performance and growth

Strong technical acumen with expertise in developing and maintaining large-scale production systems on cloud platforms

Experience handling cloud estates subject to external audits and demonstrating clear cost transparency to the business

Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders

Knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes to provide informed architecture guidance

Nice to Have

Previous experience leading a DevOps or platform function internationally

Background in client-oriented or regulated services

The Opportunity

We are in search of a Head of DevOps to take charge of the platforms, infrastructure, and delivery pipelines that enable us to securely and reliably deliver software to our clients — from initial development stages to the live production systems we manage on their behalf.

This is a senior leadership position with a global scope that oversees our DevOps teams across different regions. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Engineering, you will establish and lead the function, set the benchmark for every engineering team, and be responsible for the dependability, security, and cost efficiency of a sizable, multi-region cloud infrastructure.

While maintaining technical proficiency to provide credible architect reviews and make sound decisions, this role primarily focuses on leadership — aiming to maximize team output rather than individually coding.

Some travel is required for this role, including occasional visits to the broader team in Bangalore, but no prolonged stays away from home are anticipated.

What You'll Be Doing

Developing and evolving the DevOps strategy and translating it into a roadmap that guides business planning

Managing the shared cloud infrastructure, tooling, and delivery pipelines utilized by all engineering teams

Establishing and supervising a DevOps function spanning multiple regions to enforce consistent standards across all regions

Ensuring our infrastructure meets security and compliance expectations set by clients and regulators, and providing evidence of compliance (e.g. SOC 2)

Offering the business transparent and reliable insights into infrastructure costs, segmented by client and project

Creating a self-service platform so that engineering teams can independently provision, build, and ship without waiting on DevOps

Leading and nurturing your team, including recruitment as the function expands

Handling incident responses and post-incident evaluations for issues affecting shared infrastructure, working closely with Support who manage daily operations

What We Offer

Competitive annual salary ranging from £122,000 to £135,000, depending on experience

What We're Looking For

Senior leadership background running a DevOps or platform function, ideally across multiple teams or regions

Demonstrated experience managing engineers with full accountability for their performance and progression

Sound technical acumen — capable of evaluating the appropriateness of your team's work and proactively addressing any concerns

Extensive hands-on experience constructing and overseeing large-scale production systems on a major cloud platform (AWS and/or GCP) covering networking, IAM, compute, managed Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code at scale

Previous involvement in managing a cloud infrastructure subject to external audits (e.g. SOC 2) while ensuring accurate cost visibility for the business

Proficient communication skills — adept at elucidating architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes, to a level where you can meaningfully assess your team's architectural choices

Nice to Have

Prior experience leading a DevOps or platform function across multiple countries or regions

Background in a client-oriented or regulated services environment

Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst who excels at problem-solving, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a technical background. In this role, you will engage with customer IT teams, business users, as well as internal Dev and product teams. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the customer's business flows and systems to deliver top-notch support.

Responsibilities:

Engage with clients to gather solution requirements across multiple assignments simultaneously.

Understand existing and proposed business processes for the intended solution.

Analyze and comprehend client data to capture context and requirements effectively.

Translate client requirements into concise documents and diagrams for internal and external communication.

Collaborate with the technical architect and product development team to ensure business requirements are met in the solution design.

Present client requirements and features of the new solution effectively.

Perform quality assurance for new product features before client delivery.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the department and company-wide.

Provide input for marketing campaigns and materials.

Support sales activities, respond to requests for proposals (RFPs), and create proposals for clients.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst for 9-17 years, focusing on capital markets solutions processing financial instruments.

Proficiency in Agile Software Development practices.

Experience working closely with business stakeholders and external clients.

Knowledge of financial applications practices.

Familiarity with various asset types such as equities, fixed income, FX, listed future and option, OTC derivatives.

Ability to translate business concepts into system requirements.

Participate constructively in technical and functional discussions with technical architects and lead developers.

Ability to explain technical aspects of products to non-technical users.

Proficient in performing gap analysis.
