Responsibilities
Take charge of leading the quality assurance efforts throughout the various stages of the software development lifecycle.
Design testing strategies, mentor QA team members, and ensure the delivery of high-quality platforms and Genesis apps.
Act as a crucial liaison between engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to establish quality standards and best practices.
Key Duties
Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers, offering guidance and support in testing methodologies and tools.
Cultivate a culture of quality and accountability within the team and organization-wide.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and create opportunities for team members' career development.
Define and implement comprehensive quality assurance strategies, processes, and standards.
Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to embed quality throughout every phase of the software development lifecycle.
Drive adoption of test automation, continuous testing practices, and microservices-specific testing strategies.
Define testing strategies for microservices, including API and integration testing.
Utilize tools and frameworks such as Postman, Pact, or WireMock for microservices and API testing.
Ensure all microservices are comprehensively tested for scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
Oversee the creation and execution of test plans, cases, and scripts for various types of testing.
Ensure all enhancements and bug fixes have adequate test coverage.
Implement test automation frameworks and tools to streamline testing processes.
Ensure CI/CD pipelines incorporate robust automated tests for microservices.
Stay current on emerging QA tools and technologies and suggest enhancements to existing frameworks.
Establish robust processes for defect identification, tracking, and resolution in a timely manner.
Provide detailed defect reports, including root cause analysis and collaborative solutions with development teams.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in software quality assurance or engineering, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
Expertise in test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium.
Proficient in performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner.
Hands-on experience in testing microservices-based systems, including API and contract testing.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI).
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Proficient in Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Familiarity with microservices architectures and testing tools.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
