Criminology

The scientific study of crime, criminals, and its driving forces is known as criminology. The study of personality traits that tend to operate somewhat below the level of conscious awareness and that result in behaviour that deviates from the norm in a given social group is known as psychopathology. It investigates anomalous personality or emotional phenomena that support symptoms or actions. In order to analyse a criminal act's components within the personality structure and determine the reasons behind the crime, criminology might use the tools provided by psychopathology. The focus is on the person, or criminal, as someone who stands out from the crowd due to personal or social flaws that have motivated him or her to commit a crime. The subject of study and intervention is act and actor.
