Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our Data Science team at our London office. As part of our larger Data Science team, you will play a crucial role in informing product decisions and developing models and infrastructure to improve efficiency, growth, and security. A key aspect of this role is working with data from various sources and ensuring its quality and accessibility. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a scalable and robust Data Infrastructure that enables easy access to data for both the Data Science team and other users. Collaboration with data scientists, platform engineers, and front-end engineers will be essential as you define requirements and design new data processes for streaming and batch processing. In addition, you will be involved in maintaining and enhancing existing data processes. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with high-quality data and understands its impact in solving real-life problems. Being proactive in identifying issues, investigating their source, and developing solutions will be critical in this role.
JUNIOR:
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the current data infrastructure to meet new requirements
- Extend and enhance existing data pipelines and ETLs
- Ensure data reliability and accuracy through data testing and validation
- Design and implement data visualization and analytics tools and products
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Previous experience in data engineering projects or roles
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with ETL pipelines and data processing
- Good knowledge of SQL and no-SQL databases
- Familiarity with coding principles, including Object-Oriented Programming
- Experience with Git
Nice to have:
- Experience with Airflow, Google Composer, or Kubernetes Engine
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Kotlin, or Scala
- Familiarity with Spark or other Big Data frameworks
- Experience with distributed and real-time technologies such as Kafka
- 1-2 years of commercial experience in a related role
MID:
Responsibilities:

- Previous experience in a data engineering role
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience in both batch processing and streaming data pipelines
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform
