Flow Traders is in search of a seasoned Energy Trader to join the expanding commodity trading desk located in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate should have in-depth expertise in energy trading and a strong interest in commodity markets. The role involves enhancing the current energy desk by increasing trading volume. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a prominent proprietary trading firm known for its entrepreneurial and innovative culture.
The selected candidate will become a part of an innovative and successful global team engaged in trading on multiple exchanges. Flow Traders values quick-witted, innovative minds and challenges them to maximize their abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop quantitative and automated trading strategies in the European energy market
- Collaborate with the team to manage and optimize trading positions
- Focus on enhancing desk functionality through technical improvements and automating daily processes
- Ensure accurate capture of essential information
- Identify new opportunities and products aligning with Flow Traders' growth strategy
- Manage trading strategy evolution around macroeconomic news events
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing new strategies in the European energy market
- Ability to translate strategies into algorithms and execute them on the trading platform
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong preference for experience in power trading
- University Degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- Exceptional mental arithmetic and analytical skills
- Competitive, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to perform under pressure
- Strong ability to identify emerging opportunities and the assertiveness to capitalize on them
