Your role

At Bitpanda Custody, we are creators of Trust Vault, a secure platform for storing crypto assets that provides access to the world of DeFi. As the preferred asset custodian for crypto institutions, we are witnessing growing interest from traditional financial institutions venturing into the crypto space. Via the TrustVault Metamask extension, customers can seamlessly connect their funds for interaction with DeFi applications and exchanges. As a member of the Custody team, you will engage directly with systems responsible for generating, managing, authorizing, signing, and recording transactions on the blockchain. Our focus extends to building wallets for various chains including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Ripple, and Solana among others. Consequently, your work will involve delving into the intricacies of constructing and transmitting blockchain transactions and establishing the essential infrastructure to facilitate such processes.

Expect to contribute to tasks such as chain support, blockchain system interaction, design and execution of event-driven and distributed environments on AWS, as well as the implementation of feature roadmaps for internal and external platform users. You will be engaged in the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to testing and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Directly contribute to enhancing features and services related to Bitpanda’s Custody product offerings.
• Develop efficient, scalable, and sustainable solutions for high-performance backend systems employing an event-driven architecture hosted on AWS.
• Collaborate on loosely-coupled microservices that underpin the organization’s core business functions.
• Work alongside a motivated team of adept developers who can guide and support your professional development journey.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in intermediate or advanced Javascript with proficiency in API development.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, along with familiarity with API design, websockets, and network communication.
• Basic understanding of event-driven design principles like event streams and message brokers such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS Event Bridge.
• Familiarity with any of the following areas is advantageous: Typescript, AWS services, trading/markets, blockchain technology, DevOps infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-Code, AI, smart contracts, Cryptonodes, Web3.
