Department Environment:

The Legal team at Copper upholds a collaborative and dynamic ethos, comprising accomplished lawyers and paralegals who bring intelligence, drive, and a sense of humor to their work. Emphasizing teamwork and diversity, the team supports each other with multi-faceted expertise and extensive cultural backgrounds. The team continues to expand alongside the company's growth, with specialization in Product and Enterprise, Corporate, and Regulatory functions to cater to evolving legal and compliance demands at a global scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Based in the Zug office with the option for partial remote work, the role involves advising Copper's executive teams, business stakeholders, and Legal and Compliance teams across Switzerland, Europe, and the Middle East on diverse legal and regulatory issues. Responsibilities include supporting license applications, engaging with regulatory bodies, guiding regulated businesses on governance and regulatory compliance, and contributing to the design of innovative and regulatory-compliant products and services in alignment with banking and financial services regulations.

  • Advice on legal matters, with emphasis on Swiss and EU regulatory law
  • Support regulated entities in designing and adapting operating models to comply with changing regulatory landscape
  • Manage license applications for global expansion
  • Collaborate with Product Team on product compliance
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and assist in team development

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer in either Swiss or EU jurisdiction with common law background
  • Post-qualification experience in in-house or law firm roles
  • Strong understanding of banking and financial services regulations
  • Ability to oversee transactions and escalate critical issues
  • Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments relevant to the role
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
