Main Responsibilities:

Review the legal documents of corporate clients and their associates

Monitor personal workload and promptly escalate significant risks or issues to senior management

Foster and maintain strong relationships with Relationship Partner Teams, clients, and stakeholders to gather required evidence for KYC due diligence

Engage in both 2-eyed and 4-eyed customer due diligence processes

Engage in relevant internal and external training programs on AML/CFT and other pertinent subjects

Act as the primary contact for queries related to Periodic Reviews

Coordinate with various departments and teams to ensure seamless review processes

Collaboration with Key Account Managers (KAMs) for VIP and Broker accounts to resolve review-related issues

Contribute to process enhancement endeavors for improved efficiency and effectiveness

Manage general administrative tasks associated with the mentioned functions in line with company requirements

Conduct open-source searches on regulatory status, public listings, and licensing

Perform WorldCheck screenings related to PEP, TF, Adverse Media, and ML risks

Prepare detailed risk assessments and escalation forms for senior management and MLRO, including red flags and mitigation strategies

Provide feedback on system glitches, procedural gaps, and necessary enhancements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher qualification

Minimum of 2 years' experience in corporate onboarding roles with solid knowledge of compliance regulations and affairs

Familiarity with risk assessments, periodic reviews, and enhanced due diligence

Proficient in English to effectively engage with international partners and stakeholders

Experience in reviewing high-risk KYB cases, complex profiles of Financial Institutions and Broker clients

Preferred certifications: ACAMS/CAMS/CCAS/ICA or equivalents

Strong skills in time management, organization, and relationship-building

Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Good understanding of local laws, regulations, and standards relevant to subject persons

Knowledge of various client types like Non-Operating/Asset Holding Companies, Funds, Trusts, etc., and familiarity with multiple EEA jurisdictions is advantageous

About The Role 🤔:

Immutable is seeking a seasoned, resourceful, and proactive Senior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel to join our Legal, Risk & Compliance team and navigate the company through its fast-paced regulatory environment. In this position, you will provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice encompassing Immutable’s products, marketing, and go-to-market initiatives with a primary focus on regulatory aspects concerning financial services, payments, and digital assets. Additionally, you will support various other legal matters associated with operating in a high-growth technology organization, including employment, privacy, and general commercial contracting. Working closely with senior stakeholders from Product, Engineering, Growth, and Commercial teams, you will simplify complex legal concepts into clear instructions that facilitate swift and responsible business decisions. Oversee and lead regulatory advisory activities, offering strategic insight into how changing laws and regulations impact Immutable’s products, services, and customer engagements.

Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Growth, and Go-To-Market teams to assess risks, shape compliant strategies, and support confident product launches.

Manage proactive regulatory projects, identifying forthcoming reforms, planning for regulatory adjustments, and assisting the business in readiness for new obligations with actionable plans.

Supply support across various other legal areas as necessary, including employment issues, privacy governance, and review, drafting, and negotiation of a broad array of commercial contracts.

Deliver advice in a concise, user-friendly manner for non-legal stakeholders, helping leaders grasp the practical steps to take, rather than dense legal memorandums.

Instruct and oversee external counsel cooperation when needed, including defining tasks, managing timelines, and maintaining fiscal discipline.

Contribute to enhancing the legal function’s scalability by improving templates, self-service resources, process enhancements, and advancing legal operations for team efficiency.

We'd Love You To Bring 🤝:

Between 5 to 8 years PQE, possessing an Australian practising certificate and familiarity with Australian legal and regulatory demands.

Previously served in-house at a startup or high-growth company where autonomy and urgency were critical attributes (consideration given to knowledgeable private practice lawyers).

Proficient in advising on regulatory matters relating to financial services, payments, fintech, or technology-driven settings, with a genuine interest in disruptive technology and developing regulatory frameworks.

Proven track record of translating intricate legal and regulatory concepts into practical, business-oriented advice that enables prompt decision-making by teams.

Experience guiding product and marketing compliance adherence, particularly within regulated or semi-regulated environments.

Exposure to employment and privacy matters, with the flexibility to contribute outside a core specialization when business demands require.

Conduct due diligence on both new and existing customers, addressing any due diligence-related issues.

Perform continuous screening for adverse media, politically exposed persons (PEP), sanctions, etc.

Identify and resolve potential matches related to adverse media, PEP, sanctions, etc., following established procedures.

Conduct global research on customers and their associates.

Job Overview

CleanSpark is seeking a skilled Real Estate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate to support the company's growth in site acquisitions, land development, and infrastructure expansion. This position is suited for individuals who excel in a dynamic environment, enjoy advising on high-value real estate transactions, and are eager to collaborate with business teams to drive projects from inception to completion.

The attorney will be responsible for providing legal support for property acquisitions, site due diligence, entitlements, land use, permitting, zoning, title/survey review, commercial leasing, easements, and development agreements. This role presents significant autonomy and direct interaction with the business, offering opportunities to influence strategic decisions within a high-growth organization. The attorney will liaise with external counsel and contractors as necessary and maintain communication with the General Counsel and leadership team throughout all projects. Some level of travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate various real estate contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, easements, and development-related documents.

Manage real estate due diligence processes for acquisitions and development ventures, encompassing title/survey reviews, environmental assessments, zoning evaluations, and land-use limitations.

Support project teams in zoning, permitting, and entitlement strategies, collaborating with external land-use advisors, consultants, and local authorities.

Advise internal stakeholders on property rights, development risks, permitting procedures, utility access, and site assessment considerations.

Direct outside counsel on real estate and land-use matters when needed.

Collaborate with internal teams (Development, Construction, Engineering, Operations, M&A) to structure and execute transactions aligned with company objectives.

Support project timelines, closing checklists, and critical date tracking for real estate transactions.

Assist in matters related to corporate governance, entity formation, and transaction approvals.

Contribute to process improvements, template development, and legal workflow enhancements to accommodate the company's growth.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local land-use laws, environmental regulations, and internal policies.

Perform any additional tasks as delegated.

Required Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school with active bar membership in a U.S. jurisdiction (Utah or Nevada preferred but not mandatory).

3-5 years of substantive experience in commercial real estate, either in a title company, law firm, in-house legal department, or real estate development firm.

Proficiency in acquisitions, title/survey matters, land development, permitting processes, and contract negotiation.

Familiarity with energy infrastructure, data centers, utilities, or industrial development (preferred but not required).

Strong project management skills to handle multiple transactions and deadlines independently.

Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation abilities.

Business-oriented mindset with a pragmatic problem-solving approach.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and entrepreneurial setting.

The salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $225,000 annually.
