About the Role:

We are seeking an adept Senior Unity Engineer to lead the development of a new mid-core 3D mobile game project, starting from the prototype stage to full production. Initially, you will collaborate closely with a small team to shape and enhance the prototype, engaging with executive stakeholders. As the project progresses, you will coordinate with leads from various disciplines to expand the team.

This role offers a distinctive opportunity for a diligent individual to pioneer a greenfield game project within a supportive and experienced organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Head the technical design and execution of a Unity 3D game project, from prototype to full production. Collaborate closely with design leads to rapidly iterate on the game prototype and liaise with other leaders to scale up the team and project.
  • Demonstrate solid game design skills and the capacity to interpret high-level directions into functional prototypes or scalable systems as needed.
  • Collaborate with design, art, and engineering teams to pinpoint focus areas and deliver effective solutions for each phase of development.
  • Prioritize game tasks efficiently, including wearing different hats when required to facilitate project and team progression.
  • Implement and enhance processes, pipelines, and best practices for game development.
  • Conduct code and architecture reviews.
  • Identify possibilities to integrate new technologies for improved workflow efficiencies and sustainable, secure game applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of software engineering experience, specifically in live service mobile games.
  • At least 5 years of Unity 3D game development experience.
  • Proactive mindset and sense of ownership.
  • Background in taking a game from prototype to launch, preferably using Unity.
  • Proficient across a range of technologies.
  • Sound understanding of system architecture, software design, and development best practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and versatile in handling tasks.

Bonus:

  • Enthusiasm for games and strong game design acumen.
  • Excellent knowledge of Unity 3D game and tools development, including live service management.
  • Broad familiarity with Unity plugins and assets for game development.
  • Experience with AWS and cloud-native application development.
  • Familiarity with Go programming language.
