About the role:

The Trading team at GSR is responsible for executing the firm's trading strategies across various business lines, such as market making and over-the-counter trading. By collaborating with GSR quants and engineers, the team optimizes trading algorithms developed over a decade and implements manual strategies to support firm and client trading activities. Additionally, the team adopts risk management strategies from the risk team to maintain an acceptable balance sheet risk, thereby maximizing trading P&L, managing firm risk, and delivering top-tier trading services to clients.

As the GSR Desk Analyst in Trading, you will enhance our trading capabilities by incorporating a fundamental perspective into our trading strategies. Leveraging your expertise in cryptocurrencies, you will monitor the market for macro, crypto, and token-specific events and risks, providing valuable recommendations on individual positions and portfolio construction.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze balance sheet and risk positions from a fundamental standpoint, considering both portfolio and individual token positions
• Offer research-driven advice on portfolio construction to optimize risk-adjusted returns based on macro and crypto views, subsector theses, and token-specific insights
• Communicate macro, industry, and token-specific catalysts and risks to optimize trading positions and execution
• Collaborate with engineers to enhance trading and risk analytics infrastructure for improved insights
• Present positions and recommendations at weekly trading and risk management meetings

Your Profile:

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business, or engineering
• Have 3+ years of experience in research, trading, or strategy at a digital assets, finance, or technology firm
• Strong understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and technical foundations
• Proficient knowledge of financial trading terms, including structured and derivatives products
• Strong work ethic, curiosity, and commitment to excellence
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
