The Role

As part of Magic’s frontend team, you will contribute to creating exceptional and innovative user experiences that leave a lasting impression. We are in search of a Senior Frontend Engineer who will play a key role in reshaping the identity landscape and simplifying how developers and businesses seamlessly integrate web3 wallet solutions into their applications while upholding superior user-experience, reliability, and security.

The responsibilities of our Senior Frontend Engineer include but are not limited to:

Authentication: Collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams to define requirements, drive technical decisions, and implement top-tier identity management services for seamless and secure user authentication.

Architecture: Working closely with engineering peers to enhance the architecture of all Magic systems, including the SDK and UI/UX components. You will also oversee the technical designs with a focus on security and solution quality.

Federated Identity Service: Leading the development and improvement of the federated identity services architecture accessible through the SDK.

This position is either hybrid and based in our New York City office or remote within Canada, preferably in Toronto.

About You

Ability to empathize with customers, developers, and users relying on our services.

Passion for enhancing developer experience and reducing user friction.

Detail-oriented with a flair for translating static mock-ups into interactive experiences.

Understanding of security best practices in developing secure web applications.

Capability to write efficient, testable code while balancing feasibility with ambition.

Familiarity with Agile Software Development Life Cycle.

Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the capability to simplify complex technical concepts.

Proficiency in ES6+ JavaScript (preferably with TypeScript experience), CSS preprocessors like LESS or SCSS, Next.js, React, React Hooks, Redux, webpack, or similar tooling.

Bonus Skills

Strong technical writing skills and experience in open source software and developer tools development.

Strong understanding of application security, including knowledge of OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities.

Experience in identity and authentication and familiarity with the wallet and/or web3 domain.

Salary: $175,000-$195,000

Role Overview:

As a Staff Cloud Engineer, you will be a key player in developing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure solutions that support Magic's product suite. Your expertise will be crucial in expanding the platform to meet global demand, ensuring resilience and high availability. By collaborating with engineering teams, you will design cloud-native solutions that scale globally, contributing to the continued innovation of the product.

Responsibilities:

Manage and enhance container orchestration platforms for customer support in Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, and Lambda environments.

Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using a promotion-based model with GitHub Actions.

Utilize infrastructure-as-code frameworks like CDK, Terraform, and Pulumi for effective infrastructure management.

Qualifications:

8+ years of Cloud Engineering experience in public cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, and TypeScript.

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent certification.

Experience managing Web3/Crypto infrastructure.

Previous startup experience.

Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
