Role Overview:
As a Staff Cloud Engineer, you will be a key player in developing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure solutions that support Magic's product suite. Your expertise will be crucial in expanding the platform to meet global demand, ensuring resilience and high availability. By collaborating with engineering teams, you will design cloud-native solutions that scale globally, contributing to the continued innovation of the product.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance container orchestration platforms for customer support in Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, and Lambda environments.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using a promotion-based model with GitHub Actions.
- Utilize infrastructure-as-code frameworks like CDK, Terraform, and Pulumi for effective infrastructure management.
- Partner with teams to build robust and scalable API solutions in AWS to address current and future requirements.
- Enhance system components for better monitoring, alerting, and stability while prioritizing security and compliance.
- Implement WAF and Zero-Trust solutions for enhanced product security using AWS WAF, Cloudflare, and more.
- Collaborate with security teams on security measures, including vulnerability assessments and risk management.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members on DevOps practices and promote knowledge sharing.
- Conduct performance and load tests to optimize backend services for efficiency and speed.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Cloud Engineering experience in public cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, and TypeScript.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent certification.
- Experience managing Web3/Crypto infrastructure.
- Previous startup experience.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.

Salary Range:
- Canada: $200K-$250K CAD
- New York City: $200K-$250K USD
