Description
We are looking for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Weapon Concept Artist for an exciting project, Seedworld. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating new and innovative weapon and item concepts in a unique art style tailored to Seedworld's characters.
Responsibilities
- Develop original and impactful weapon concepts that align with Seedworld's artistic style.
- Conduct thorough research to derive inspiration for creating weapons.
- Skillfully integrate storytelling elements into weapon designs to enhance the immersion of Seedworld.
- Maintain cohesive design standards and visual language consistent with Seedworld's artistic style.
- Collaborate closely with the Art Department to brainstorm ideas and refine the design of weapons for Seedworld.
- Engage with Art Directors, Technical Artists, and Game Designers to understand technical requirements and optimize the production pipeline.
- Actively participate in technical and artistic discussions and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
- Summarize work effectively, address issues, and improve communication channels for seamless collaboration within the team.
- Offer guidance, mentorship, and support to junior artists, sharing expertise in weapon design and assisting with departmental training.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable expertise in weapon design with experience creating stylized weapons and props across various scales.
- 5+ years of experience as a weapon concept artist in the gaming industry, with a track record of contributing to at least one AAA title released within the last 5 years.
- Proficient in using Photoshop for design work.
- In-depth knowledge of weapon game art development technologies, terminologies, and techniques.
- Strong portfolio showcasing comprehension of traditional art principles, including shape language, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Demonstrated experience in stylized material and texture design.

- Aptitude for fast-paced, collaborative work environments and receptiveness to feedback.
- Exceptional teamwork, organizational, and communication skills with proficiency in English and a strategic grasp of production values and timelines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new workflows to optimize production processes.
Bonus Skills
- Experience in 3D production, such as sculpting weapons and props in Zbrush or Blender and texturing.
- Proficiency in an additional area of expertise as a concept artist.
