About the Team
The Global Legal team at OKX offers legal advice and support to OKX and its affiliates across various legal practice areas and locations, collaborating with teams throughout the company to facilitate business growth. With over 20 attorneys globally, we handle legal matters in more than 100 countries. Operating from our headquarters in San Jose, California, OKX serves customers worldwide with offices in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
About the Opportunity
As an Associate General Counsel at OKX, you will oversee global token listing procedures and provide legal support to the Compliance department. Collaborating with the Global Legal team and business leaders, this role is based in either our San Jose, San Francisco, or New York office three days a week, with remote work options for the remaining two days. The ideal candidate will have experience in the cryptocurrency/digital asset space, working for a respected law firm or reputable financial services, technology, or cryptocurrency company. Strong writing and analytical skills are a must, along with experience in cryptocurrency/digital assets, securities law, white collar investigations, and compliance programs.

Responsibilities
- Provide legal support in diverse areas, including token listings, compliance, product promotion, global regulatory matters, contract negotiation, and partnerships
- Manage outside counsel and align legal advice with the company's business plans and risk tolerance
- Assist the litigation and regulatory practice group on global regulatory matters when needed
- Collaborate with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals
- Address legal requests from all business sectors and provide strategic legal advice aligned with business objectives
Requirements
- Active bar membership (CA preferred) or eligibility to practice in California as in-house counsel
- Strong legal background from a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team, ideally in the cryptocurrency/digital assets sector
- Understanding of global regulatory environments and ability to interpret legislation and guidance
- Analytical skills with the capacity to tackle complex problems
- Detail-oriented, driven, with a passion for knowledge-sharing
- Experience in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and regulatory landscape
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
