Responsibilities:
As a part of the Data Engineering - Business ETL team, you will lead the management of data warehouse and pipelines crucial for financial and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities encompass fueling Circle’s functional units like Finance, Accounting, and Analytics with operational precision and strategic insights to enable and expedite business expansion. Your pivotal role involves reshaping data movement across the organization, emphasizing data accuracy and quality to enhance Circle’s transparency, credibility, and accountability requirements.
Key Duties:
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, analytics, and accounting departments to devise and oversee scalable data life cycles for new and existing products.
- Develop, construct, and sustain data ETL/ELT pipelines to collate and aggregate data necessary for various analyses and reporting purposes.
- Integrate data into internal and customer-facing applications for analytical, financial, and regulatory applications.
- Forge connections with external systems to secure necessary datasets through sourcing or dissemination.
- Enhance the operational efficiency, vigilance, and performance of the data warehouse.
- Reimagine current data storage and processing methodologies within data platforms among Circle teams and external applications.
- Participate in designing, deploying, and enhancing a scalable data platform for ingesting, storing, and aggregating diverse datasets.
- Serve as an expert in financial data modeling, data pipelines, data quality, and financial data warehousing.
Requirements for Success:
- Background: Over 2 years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages like Java, Scala, or Python.
- Fluency in SQL within big data warehouse systems e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, DBT, etc.
- Familiarity with various Cloud Services like AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure.
- Prior exposure to financial data, advantageous experience in payment systems, credit cards, bank transfers, blockchains.
- Knowledge of open source or similar big data technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to swiftly learn and deliver on moderate to complex projects.
- Self-driven individual with a proactive approach, ensuring results and comfortable with a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent communicator, adept at collaborating with distributed teams, communicating ideas effectively.
Additional Information:
- This role provides day-one PERM sponsorship for qualifying candidates.
- Base Pay Range: $120,000 - $162,500
- Annual Bonus Target: 10%
- Compensation package includes Equity & Benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k), flexible vacation policy, 10 paid sick days annually, and 11 paid holidays in the U.S.
