BitGo seeks a seasoned Director of Engineering to spearhead the Wallets Engineering division, driving innovation in core wallet technology to enhance customer experience. While not a hands-on coding role, the Director of Engineering will closely engage with the team on technical aspects.
The position involves hybrid work, with 1 day per week based in the office in NYC, and remote work for the remainder of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop cutting-edge wallet solutions for various clients, ranging from crypto-native entities to Fortune 500 companies.
- Take ownership of enhancing the user experience on the wallet platform.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders like Product, Marketing, Sales, to define and implement the product and technical vision and roadmap for Wallets Engineering.
- Coach engineering managers to nurture future senior leadership at BitGo.
- Cultivate an engineering culture aligning with BitGo’s values of open communication, collaboration, accountability, craftsmanship, and a client-centric approach.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Over 14 years of software engineering experience, with at least 6 years in a managerial capacity and 2 years in leading managers.
- Background or keen interest in cryptocurrency, coupled with successful managerial transitions into new organizations.
- Proven track record sourcing and hiring top engineering, particularly managerial, talent.
- Demonstrated success in steering engineering-wide initiatives and collaborating with product teams on roadmap development.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with significant business stakeholder engagement experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and proficient written and verbal communication skills.
