We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to steer our engineering department into a phase of accelerated growth.

The Role

This presents a unique opportunity to establish and lead a world-class engineering team at Flawless, a company making significant creative and cultural impacts with substantial growth prospects. As the Director of Product Engineering, you will be instrumental in expanding our current engineering team of 20+ engineers, guiding them in a journey of exponential growth while fostering a culture of high performance, product focus, agility, and excellence in craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

• Own the engineering roadmap and drive execution in collaboration with product, research, and operations to deliver exceptional tools efficiently and at scale.
• Uphold standards of technical brilliance by balancing speed with quality and experimentation with stability.
• Cultivate an engineering culture where challenges are seen as opportunities for solutions in product development.
• Deploy suitable technologies and frameworks that facilitate agility without hindering future progress.

Organizational Growth

• Expand the team by recruiting, retaining, and nurturing top-tier engineers and leaders to enhance the organizational culture.
• Mentor engineering managers and senior individual contributors to evolve as impactful, independent leaders.
• Develop scalable organizational structures, define clear career paths, and establish robust feedback mechanisms.

Culture Development

• Nurture an environment of high performance and accountability where engineers flourish through ownership.
• Advocate for a collaborative and creative culture driven by diversity of perspectives, enhancing overall team performance.

Qualifications

• Profound experience leading engineering organizations from about 20 to 80+ engineers, preferably in fast-paced product environments.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and instilling structure when necessary while empowering teams to innovate.
• Prioritize product impact in technical decision-making, ensuring alignment with user value.
• Possess a balance of technical acumen and the ability to delegate, empower, and listen effectively.
• Committed to cultivating exceptional teams and cultures, not exclusively focused on code delivery.
• Emphasize both speed and quality while coaching teams to achieve a harmonious balance.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with creative tools or AI/ML-driven products.
• Background in handling intricate technical domains with stringent security and quality requirements.
