Director of Regulatory & Compliance

With a significant focus on regulation technologies, we have processed nearly half a trillion dollars in transactions. Our recent Series B funding round of $14.5 million, led by DRW, signifies our ongoing success trajectory with the backing of prominent investors like Y Combinator and Jump Capital among others.

Operating across three continents and eight countries, we are a rapidly expanding and remote-first team of 40 professionals. As we grow, we are seeking individuals to join us in shaping the future landscape of the crypto industry.

We are at the forefront of Travel Rule solutions, establishing a top-tier Regulatory and Compliance team in the evolving crypto policy landscape. We are in search of a qualified professional to fill the role of Director of Regulatory and Compliance. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to strengthen our influence on global policy issues, drive regulatory engagement, and foster innovation. Reporting to the Head of Regulatory and Compliance, the role involves collaborating with internal team members to ensure alignment between operational efforts and policy objectives and building valuable connections within blockchain and traditional policy circles.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with global regulators to provide education on Travel Rule regulations, shape policy decisions, and establish productive partnerships.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to support business objectives by educating on Travel Rule implementation and operational best practices.
• Represent Notabene in partnership with industry associations and stakeholders to advance unified industry positions.
• Conduct and manage testnet projects to gather insights for scaling Travel Rule solutions in key markets.
• Provide executive briefing on the impact of new policies on company practices and products.
• Draft responses to regulatory consultations and create informative written content on policy matters in coordination with marketing and product teams.
• Identify opportunities for executive participation in speaking engagements and written content, enhancing policy and regulatory engagement.
• Develop regulatory strategies, map stakeholders, and support market segmentation aligned with expansion plans.
• Enhance and expand Notabene’s Travel Rule Certification Program to align with evolving regulatory standards.
• Offer compliance insights to product teams for integrating regulatory requirements into product development.
• Cultivate a network of influential stakeholders to foster a favorable policy and regulatory environment.
• Participate as a regulatory voice at conferences and industry events.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in public policy, law, or related field, with a focus on regulatory compliance in fintech or crypto sectors.
• Expertise in financial services and payment-related issues affecting the crypto industry, including Travel Rule, AML, and cross-border compliance.
• Preferable background in public policy leadership and past regulatory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with lawmakers, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills, including dynamic presentation abilities.
• Passion for digital assets, crypto markets, and blockchain technology.
