BitGo is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Compliance division in Bangalore, India. The role entails close collaboration with counterparts in the US and may involve hands-on coding to gain a comprehensive understanding of BitGo and blockchain components. The ideal candidate is expected to be deeply involved in the technical aspects of the team's work.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for expanding BitGo's business by developing optimal systems for institutions
- Collaborate with Product, Trust, Compliance, and other key stakeholders to define and execute the product and technical vision effectively
- Provide consistent coaching to the team and broader engineering department
- Take direct ownership of the team's work quality and delivery
- Manage the end-to-end availability and performance of critical services
- Foster best practices in engineering design and usability and lead by example
- Facilitate comprehensive documentation and knowledge sharing
- Partner with management and product teams to strategize, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objectives
- Work closely with company leadership to identify upcoming opportunities and risks
- Cultivate a culture across engineering that aligns with BitGo's values of open communication, collaboration, accountability, craftsmanship, and a client-centric approach
- Coordinate with stakeholders in US and other global locations, potentially requiring availability for calls in PST/EST timezones to synchronize with the geographically dispersed team
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role
- Exposure to the crypto industry, either professionally or personally, or a strong interest in the field
- Successful track record of transitioning into a new organization as a manager
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting and hiring top engineering talent, including managers
- Proven success in leading company-wide engineering initiatives
- History of collaboration with product teams to define product roadmaps
- Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly in collaboration with business stakeholders
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering field
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
