Engineering Manager - Prime

This role entails full-time onsite presence at the Palo Alto office to drive collaborative teamwork and innovative problem-solving within the Prime organization.

BitGo is seeking an Engineering Manager to foster the development of resilient, high-quality services and to lead critical projects independently as part of the Prime team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of skilled engineers, offering guidance in technical and cultural aspects.
• Cultivate a culture of open communication, ownership, and craftsmanship within the team.
• Assume direct accountability for the team’s project delivery and quality.
• Oversee all technologies and services supporting BitGo Prime, including trading, lending, settlement, etc.
• Act as a key liaison between engineering, product, operations, compliance, and business stakeholders.
• Drive KPIs related to internal operational efficiency, client experience, and service availability.
• Encourage thorough documentation and knowledge sharing among team members.
• Collaborate with management and product teams to plan, prioritize, and estimate roadmap goals.
• Align team objectives with broader company goals and client expectations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a managerial position within an engineering department.
• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in automating processes, developing tools for enhanced workflow efficiency.
• Strong debugging skills and adept at understanding complex system interconnections.
• Track record of recruiting and hiring top-tier engineering talent.
• Experience collaborating across teams and functions to achieve departmental targets.
• Self-starter with quick adaptability and decisive decision-making skills.
• Background in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with NodeJS, TypeScript, Go, Postgres, React, Kafka.
• Experience in microservices, service-oriented architectures, large-scale, real-time applications.
• Knowledge of Containers and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of and exposure to the financial industry.
• Knowledge of digital wallets, clearing, settlement, lending, trading, accounting systems, etc.
