Job Summary:

BitGo is seeking an Engineering Manager to join the Wallet Tech organization. The incumbent will play a crucial role in constructing resilient, robust services and undertaking essential projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of talented engineers, offering cultural, technical, and practical guidance.
  • Cultivate team growth, contribute to establishing a culture of transparent communication, craftsmanship, and accountability.
  • Assume direct accountability for the quality and delivery of the team's projects.
  • Oversee all technology and services driving BitGo's Web experiences for both retail and institutional clients.
  • Act as a positive liaison between engineering teams and various stakeholders including product operations, support, compliance, and business units.
  • Take charge of key performance indicators related to internal operations efficiency, client experience enhancement, and service uptime.
  • Encourage comprehensive documentation and knowledge dissemination.
  • Collaborate effectively with management and product teams to strategize, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objectives aligned with broader organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • Prior managerial experience or similar senior-level roles in an engineering department.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering expertise, with at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing engineers.
  • Proficiency in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
  • Strong inclination towards automation to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Excellent debugging skills and an ability to comprehend complex system interdependencies.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and hiring top engineering talent.
  • Experience collaborating across teams and functions to achieve overarching departmental objectives.
  • Demonstrated agility, decisiveness, and proactive approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, Postgres, React, and Kafka.
  • Background in microservices and service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience working on large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to the financial industry.
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation Benefits:

The base salary for this role typically ranges between $180,000 - $240,000 USD, depending on the level and location. Additionally, the role includes equity, an annual performance bonus, and various benefits like competitive salary, stock options, company-paid health insurance, 401k match, paid vacation, parental leave, commuter benefits, catered meals and snacks, dedicated computer equipment, and a vibrant startup environment.
