Front-End Developer (UI Design System)

We are seeking a talented Front-End Developer to spearhead the development and upkeep of our UI design system. This role entails leading the UI/UX efforts across all Toku products, involving tasks from building components using React.js to ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness on diverse platforms and devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modern front-end technologies and a passion for driving innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy a scalable UI design system for Toku's web applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to seamlessly integrate UI and APIs.
- Construct components using React.js with a focus on performance and responsiveness.
- Lead front-end architecture, ensuring adherence to best practices for scalability.
- Translate design mockups into responsive web pages using TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and ES6+ JavaScript.
- Optimize components for speed and accessibility, while maintaining code quality.
- Stay abreast of evolving front-end technologies and incorporate them as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a front-end developer.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Extensive hands-on experience with React.js and related libraries.
- Strong familiarity with CSS methodologies for scalable and maintainable CSS.
- Experience in design systems or component libraries like Material-UI or Ant Design.
- Knowledge of build tools and package managers such as Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn.
- Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and optimization techniques.
- Ability to work in an agile environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Understanding of CSS-in-JS libraries like Styled Components, Emotion.
- Knowledge of performance testing and browser compatibility debugging.
