Graduate Trading Operations/DevOps Engineer
Flow Traders is seeking a Graduate Trading Ops/DevOps Engineer to become part of our dynamic Trading Operations team based in Amsterdam. As a key contributor within the Trading Operations Team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the performance and stability of our proprietary trading systems and associated hardware. Your responsibilities will involve addressing technical issues with our in-house trading applications, directly impacting the company's overall performance. You will collaborate closely with various departments to enhance your knowledge of our proprietary trading applications, their functionality, and ongoing development efforts.
This position will involve serving as an SRE, Operations Engineer, and Developer.
Responsibilities
- Attain proficiency in understanding our latency-sensitive trading application stacks, troubleshoot in a fast-paced setting, and implement effective solutions.
- Develop, test, and integrate monitoring solutions using APIs provided by our proprietary trading applications to monitor the health and performance of our trading environment.
- Collaborate with system administrators to optimize Linux-based trading environments utilizing tools from modern Linux distributions.
- Coordinate with Cloud SREs to manage our distributed systems landscape effectively.
- Contribute to our initiatives for full automation of infrastructure and application management.
- Establish, employ, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct user acceptance testing for the internal application stacks and gain insights into how traders and supporting teams utilize our software.
- Provide technical requirements to enhance the operational efficiency of our applications continuously.
- Enhance your skills in Python or other scripting languages by collaborating with trading desks to develop automation for complex workflows.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative fields.
- 0-2 years of professional experience.
- Proficient in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge in programming languages like Python, Go, JavaScript, or C++.
- Basic understanding and interest in networking are advantageous.
- Familiarity or interest in technologies such as Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Terraform, and GCP is beneficial.
- Strong teamwork mindset and eagerness to acquire new skills.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
