Description
Token Metrics is in search of a Head of Investment Research who will oversee investment transaction-related activities and lead blockchain investments. This role involves developing financial models, conducting primary and secondary market research, engaging with entrepreneurs, and participating in relevant industry events.
The Head of Investment Research will focus on sourcing a growing number of investment opportunities and developing proactive investment strategies. Responsibilities include analyzing and evaluating potential venture capital investments, managing portfolio activities, and building strong relationships with company management teams throughout the investment process.
Responsibilities
- Create financial models for various investment transactions and perform valuation analyses.
- Conduct due diligence, such as industry research and competitive landscape analyses, to develop informed investment viewpoints.
- Prepare investment memos and presentations for the partnership, as well as lead investor roles when necessary.
- Collaborate with portfolio companies to optimize their operations and performance.
- Establish scalable processes for the investment procedures within Token Metrics.
- Utilize professional networks to identify compelling investment opportunities.
- Present investment opportunities to Token Metrics' Executive Investment Committee.
- Stay informed on developments in the blockchain and cryptocurrency sectors.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in investing within the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry.
- Must hold a CFA certification.
- Proven track record of success in leading investment processes at reputable firms.
- Previous experience managing strategic alliances and M&A transactions in technology-related fields.
- Expertise in startup financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
- Ability to think strategically and solve complex business issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in crafting impactful presentations for executive decision-makers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, retain, and mentor high-performing teams in the investment domain.
