Head of Strategic Planning and Execution
We are in search of an experienced and dynamic leader to fill the role of Head of Strategic Planning and Execution for our team. As the Head of Strategic Planning and Execution, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic initiatives at DFINITY. Your role will involve ensuring that all business verticals are guided by thorough market research and trend analysis. Additionally, you will support strategic decision-making, establish a comprehensive budget allocation framework, and oversee special projects. Your direct report will be the Chief Business Officer (CBO).
Primary Focus
Strategic Decision-Making Support: Provide support to the CBO and the leadership team in updating the overall strategy periodically. This involves utilizing market research and a budget allocation framework that emphasizes initiatives based on impact and alignment with overarching objectives.
Strategy Execution: Take charge of coordinating and executing strategic initiatives across all operational areas. Ensure these ventures align with the company’s aims and capitalize on market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development: Work closely with the CBO and senior executives to define, articulate, and revise strategic initiatives and long-term goals, integrating market intelligence and ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
Budget Allocation & Strategic Prioritization: Develop and implement a budget allocation framework that directs resources towards high-impact strategic initiatives, facilitating informed decision-making and efficient resource utilization.
Strategy Execution: Direct the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, adequate resource support, and effective cross-departmental coordination. Assist initiative teams in progress and resource constraint resolution.
Market Intelligence and Business Research: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities within the digital asset and Web3 landscape. Utilize findings to shape strategic decisions and adjust company strategy as necessary.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with department heads to ensure smooth execution of strategic projects, promoting cross-functional synergies and alignment with corporate objectives.
Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluating the success of strategic initiatives. Provide data-driven insights to guide adjustments and continuity alignment with corporate objectives.
Leadership and Mentoring: Lead and mentor a team of strategy and project management professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable.
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years in strategy consulting, preferably with a leading consulting firm, with a proven track record in strategic planning, execution, and budget management.
Industry Expertise: In-depth understanding of the digital asset, Web3, and broader tech landscape. Familiarity with ICP technology and ecosystem is advantageous.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficient in market research, data analysis, and strategic decision support.
Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the aptitude to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels.
Project Management: Proven experience in managing complex projects, cross-functional teams, and strategic budgets.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, focusing on delivering results, innovation, and optimal resource allocation.
Adaptability: Proficiency in navigating a fast-paced, dynamic environment and responding effectively to market shifts and opportunities.
Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to support strategic initiatives and liaise with teams in various locations.
