Intermediate Frontend Engineer

Seedworld Studios is dedicated to transforming the gaming landscape through the creation of Seedworld, an innovative AAA metaverse game merging Fantasy and Steampunk realms. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Intermediate Frontend Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing the product application that underpins one of the industry's most significant metaverse projects. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to realize our ambitious vision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ownership & Goal Attainment: Assume ownership of tasks, contribute to team goals with timely high-quality deliverables, and propose solutions for enhancing team efficiency.
• Frontend Development: Build and maintain responsive, user-friendly applications using React and Next.js, following best practices in TypeScript and JavaScript. Maintain clean, easily scalable code.
• Roadmap Collaboration: Contribute actively to project roadmaps, balancing technical and business requirements while incorporating feedback for improvement.
• Adaptability & Innovation: Adjust to changing priorities, offer innovative solutions aligning with team objectives, and collaborate effectively with managers on trade-offs.
• Collaboration & Communication: Engage proactively with team members, share information and insights, and provide constructive input during discussions to facilitate decision-making.
• User-Centric Approach: Collaborate with UI/UX designers to craft user-focused applications that meet accessibility and responsiveness standards while aligning with user expectations.
• Code Quality & Best Practices: Craft reusable, structurally strong code following established patterns and standards. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and improve team knowledge.
• API Integration: Work alongside backend engineers to seamlessly integrate RESTful APIs into frontend applications and enhance functionality through third-party API integrations.
• System Design Contribution: Provide input on frontend architecture, implementing scalable solutions and utilizing design patterns effectively during problem-solving.
• Monitoring & Optimization: Utilize basic observability tools to monitor application performance, optimize frontend operations using data insights for improved user experience.
• Security Standards: Embrace secure coding principles, identify potential vulnerabilities, and apply security practices in code to augment application resilience.
• Professional Development: Take ownership of personal growth, pursue learning opportunities actively, and share knowledge with colleagues while providing guidance when needed.

Team Structure

You will be an essential part of a multi-disciplinary product development team consisting of frontend/backend engineers, test engineers, UI/UX designers, product owners, and Web3 experts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience or related field.
• Proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks. Familiarity with blockchain technologies and emphasis on optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Understanding or interest in the Web3 ecosystem, including wallet integrations and DeFi concepts.
• Experience in user-focused environments and prioritizing exceptional user experience.
• Demonstrated adaptability to manage shifting priorities in fast-paced settings.

Desirable

• Exposure to monitoring/analytics tools such as Sentry, Hypertune, etc.
• Knowledge of web3 libraries and secure coding practices.
• Proficiency in agile development workflows and Git-based version control.

Location

• Fully remote position.
• Flexible timezone with core working hours between 9 AM and 10 PM (UTC time).
