Job Description:

We are seeking talented students majoring in Mathematical Science at the BA or MS level to join us in the groundbreaking fields of cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and web3 technology. As a member of Openmesh, you will play a vital role in the advancement of one of the world's pioneering and expansive open data clouds and analytics engines. Openmesh is a global initiative that brings together exceptional minds in the tech industry to create open data and infrastructures that will shape the next decade or two.

This internship will provide valuable industry experience and can fulfill the PEP 40 requirement, as it offers a paid opportunity lasting 2 to 12 weeks. The role will be based in our office on Sydney George St. By working alongside a world-class team, you can uncover your professional potential and enjoy access to potential permanent job placements, competitive salaries, and exciting cash prize competitions.

About Openmesh and Xnode

Today, a few corporations control a vast majority of the world's data and IT infrastructure, making trust in these central entities a necessity. This centralized control offers many challenges. Information disparity leads to socioeconomic inequality, scandal, polarization, and even corruption. Sometimes it even contributes to conflicts. By acting as chokepoints for innovation and raising concerns about privacy, centralized data control stifles the free flow of data.

Openmesh, a cutting-edge open-source cloud infrastructure and global open data network, aims to provide an alternative. Without intermediaries, Openmesh enables the storage of global data on a substantial scale. Presently, it covers approximately 80% of the crypto and web3 ecosystem and will expand its coverage to include public health and scientific research data in 2023 and 2024.

By using Openmesh, anyone can create a decentralized data cloud of their own. Global connectivity, secure data sharing, reduced deployment costs, and automated setup become possible. The Openmesh Network exists to collect, store, process, stream, and facilitate data connectivity for individuals without the need for registration, licensing, or payments. Think of Openmesh as the fabric of the internet, woven with open data that ensures universal access and circumvents interference from regulators, governments, corporations, or its creators. The potential applications are limitless.

Core Products

One of our core products, Xnode, is an integral part of our vision. Xnode offers a revolutionary platform for developers to construct decentralized data clouds. By harnessing data connectivity, data APIs, and query and analytics engines, developers can create their own data clouds in a matter of minutes, saving significant time and expense. Large cost reductions in deployment and operation, as well as substantially decreased time commitments, are key features of Xnode.

Pythia, another product, is a powerful analytics and query engine. Pythia processes raw data, converting it into valuable insights that can drive action. With Pythia, anyone can design, build, visualize, and deploy compelling data products.

Unified APIs provide universal access to all crypto and web3 data through a single endpoint, without requiring any licensing, registrations, or setup fees.

Our Vision

We aspire to democratize data and address the significant asymmetry of information on a global scale. Without reliable, high-quality data, the functionality of webpages, apps, and the entire internet would be jeopardized. Our belief is that access to reliable and unedited information is a fundamental right essential to fostering a free and democratic society. Openmesh's design and infrastructure intentionally lack any centralized authority capable of altering data, impeding the distribution or control of information, or restricting who can access specific data. The open-source nature of our technology stack also allows governance by an open-source community.

The Opportunity

  • Fulfill your PEP 40H industry experience requirement through this paid internship.
  • Learn about groundbreaking innovations in Data, Cloud, Blockchain, AI, and Web3 Infrastructure from visionaries, senior engineers, and product owners, gaining insight into your desired career path.
  • Gain access to our open-source technology, participate in hackathons, virtual conferences, mentoring sessions, R&D infrastructure, workshops, and observe hands-on applications of your knowledge. Applicants can work in-person or remotely. A hackathon is scheduled for the 28th of this month.
  • Career progression opportunities due to the potential for full-time offers for top-performing candidates.
  • Develop problem-solving skills, refine your ability to present ideas, collaborate within a team, and cultivate a professional mindset through assigned projects that provide on-the-job experience.
  • The specialized knowledge and skills acquired during the internship will lay the foundation for a successful career at Openmesh.

Why Join Us

  • Be at the forefront of a revolutionary product that is transforming data management and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with an international community of innovators and thought leaders in the expansive field of decentralized technology.
  • Make a profound impact on worldwide data access and utilization, promoting transparency, efficiency, and democratization of information.
  • Enjoy a dynamic, challenging, and fulfilling work environment while receiving competitive compensation and benefits.

In addition to academic qualifications, we highly value your unique qualities, personal interests, and achievements beyond university that illustrate the kind of person you are and the value you would bring to our team.
