About the Role:
Limit Break seeks a talented Level Designer, proficient in 3D environments, animations, and cinematics, to create engaging visual narratives for our mobile games. As Lead Level Designer, you will play a crucial role in product leadership, conceptualizing exciting game experiences, and enhancing live game content using data-driven design principles.
Responsibilities encompass designing visual narratives, crafting mini games and live events in Unity, and employing a data-centric design approach to iterate game content. This role demands expertise in game engines, editors, and level scripting tools to bring new gaming experiences from concept to implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of new game levels and events with compelling visual narratives, cutscenes, and engaging gameplay features.
- Collaborate with creative teams to storyboard game episodes and events, incorporating visual narrative design techniques.
- Create in-engine cinematics in Unity to enhance visual storytelling and highlight key gameplay moments.
- Assemble various assets in Unity, from models to animations, to facilitate the game environment design.
- Utilize cinematography skills to create engaging scenes and compelling visual narratives with smooth camera movements.
- Work alongside other creative departments to ensure assets are accurately specified and ready for production.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the video game industry as a Technical 3D Level Designer or Technical Artist.
- Proven ability to design engaging visual narratives for levels, quests, minigames, and events, optimizing flow, pacing, and storytelling.
- Proficiency in Unity for building 3D game scenes, levels, and environments.
- Strong technical knowledge and scripting skills with in-depth understanding of in-engine sequencers.
- Familiarity with cinematography, 3D character animation, and interest in industry-related technologies.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills, coupled with a mindset for data-driven design.
- Resourceful, able to work efficiently with technical constraints.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with live game services, managing content pipelines, and optimizing design based on customer metrics.
- Previous experience in mobile gaming and agile development.
- Excitement for new technologies and interest in creating games for emerging player markets.
- Experience designing a mobile game from inception is a plus.
