Your Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of agile engineering teams, overseeing activities like requirements assessment, scrum processes, retrospectives, and team engagements.
- Develop and maintain APIs, user interfaces, services, and systems, while also engaging in hands-on coding to support the engineering team directly.
- Offer technical guidance and architectural direction for the design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of our platform.
- Lead agile software practices within engineering teams and introduce industry-leading methodologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with company objectives, establish technology roadmaps, and define realistic product release timelines.
- Drive team performance through effective team management, including recruitment, training, mentorship, and performance evaluation of engineering teams.
- Advocate for the engineering team internally, conveying technological opportunities and constraints to different departments.
- Strategically manage technical debt to sustain development pace and reliability in production operations.
- Contribute to broader engineering initiatives as a member of Circle's engineering management cadre.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts across various teams within the organization.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of technical leadership experience and 7+ years in software engineering roles.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Go, Java, or Javascript.
- Proven track record as a hands-on technical manager in building secure and scalable products and services.
- Passion for coaching and developing leaders, promoting team growth and excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively cross-functionally, make informed decisions, and manage trade-offs.
- Experience in managing remote teams and thriving in dynamic, autonomous environments.
Additional Information:
- Immediate PERM sponsorship eligibility available for qualified candidates.
Compensation Range & Benefits:
- Base Pay Range: $182,500 - $240,000.
- Annual Bonus Target: 15%.
- Total Compensation: Includes equity and benefits (e.g., medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
- Leave Policies: Discretionary vacation policy, 10 paid sick days annually, and 11 paid holidays in the U.S.
