Job Overview
We are looking for a Market Surveillance Investigator to collaborate with various teams including compliance, legal, technology, and front office product departments within Binance. The role involves contributing to the establishment and deployment of new surveillance capabilities. The candidate is required to aid in designing the surveillance infrastructure and conduct analysis and investigations based on surveillance reports. Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities are necessary to identify potential market misconduct indicators within intricate data sets. Independent decision-making skills, along with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, are crucial. The selected candidate will work closely with stakeholders to track regulatory developments and market trends, which could necessitate updates to existing or development of new surveillance strategies to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Responsibilities
- Promptly analyze alerts to facilitate market misconduct detection and prevention.
- Identify and escalate areas of concern to relevant stakeholders, bringing abnormal activities to the attention of senior management.
- Participate in modeling efforts to enhance surveillance coverage related to conduct risk, compliance policies, and market manipulation.
- Conduct ad-hoc reviews of trading activities, applying judgment to address high-risk behaviors efficiently.
- Summarize analyses effectively and present findings to pertinent stakeholders like Legal and Compliance teams.
- Stay up-to-date on regulatory, business, and market structure changes impacting surveillance programs, seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, preferably in financial services compliance or a similar field with a strong grasp of financial markets and trading.
- Proven track record of thriving in rapidly evolving and complex work settings.
- Proficient in trade surveillance and exception-based monitoring.
- Extensive knowledge of financial/trading regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resourceful, results-driven, self-initiated professional with a problem-solving attitude.
- Initiative-driven, analytical, and integrity-focused individual.
- Familiarity with Digital Asset products and market structures is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Tableau, Python, and SQL is a plus.
This team observes a follow-the-sun model and requires support during the APAC time zone. Therefore, this role is open to individuals residing in or near APAC regions.
