As a valued member of the Compliance, Fraud team, your key responsibility will revolve around collaborating with leadership to enhance Anchorage Digital's capabilities in blockchain analytics and fraud investigation. Your role will involve leveraging fraud control tools, assessing blockchain-based risks, spearheading initiatives to bolster the organization's grasp of blockchain technology and anti-fraud solutions, and working closely with Digital Asset and Fiat Data.
This pivotal role necessitates a blend of technical proficiency and strategic vision to ensure optimal management of blockchain data, Fiat activity, and identification of emerging trends and risks within the digital asset landscape. Your contributions are integral to protecting the bank against financial crimes, money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and operationalizing the Global FCC Model.
Key Technical Skills:
- Provide expert consultancy across multiple teams to reinforce the organization's resilience against financial crimes related to blockchain and meet evolving regulatory standards.
- Excel in completing and filing Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) forms and possess expertise in investigative and analytic support for intricate investigations within the FCC functional teams.
- Collaborate with FCC teams to accurately attribute entities linked to cryptocurrency addresses and contracts, supporting FCC and serviced entities.
- Develop and deliver training resources to enhance internal teams' understanding of blockchain technology, compliance nuances, and emerging risks.
- Utilize blockchain analytics tools to trace digital assets across various networks and identify malicious actors.
- Conduct continual monitoring and in-depth analysis of digital asset and Fiat data to detect patterns, trends, and suspicious activities across blockchain networks and banking partners.
- Offer technical analysis for high-risk escalations to evaluate findings beyond initial flags or risk indicators.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Demonstrate adeptness in navigating challenges and exercising expert judgment to ensure efficient outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Provide expert advice and support to compliance, legal, and regulatory teams on investigations related to digital assets, Fiat, risk mitigations, and the Digital Asset Support Framework.
- Collaborate with FCC leadership to enhance operational efficiency through strategic alignment, process enhancements, technical integration, automation, knowledge transfer, training, risk mitigation, and compliance.
- Offer expert support in developing, implementing, and fortifying digital asset compliance programs to align with international AML and CTF standards, ensuring compliance with digital asset regulations.
- Assist in crafting policies for monitoring and reporting suspicious digital asset activities and review secondary market risk of Bank-issued stablecoins and TRM Labs blockchain analytics alerts.
- Engage in Quality Control (QC) work of L1 Analyst reviews and autonomously manage projects within the team's purview with minimal supervision.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Possess awareness of Anchorage Digital's strategy for effective implementation and plan team goals in line with corporate objectives.
- Deep understanding of Anchorage Digital's objectives to sustain regulatory compliance.
- Foster knowledge sharing within Anchorage Digital and specifically the FCC Team to mitigate reliance on individual team members.
- Act as a representative of Anchorage Digital to offer Fiat technical knowledge and blockchain tracing expertise in varied settings as needed.
Communication and Influence:
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments in the digital asset space, collaborating internally to align anti-fraud initiatives with business objectives and regulatory compliance.
- Engage with external partners to exchange insights and enhance digital asset intelligence capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate responses to blockchain-related incidents and provide requisite information to Financial Crime Compliance teams.
- Mentor and guide FCC Team members to align their work with strategic compliance goals and company objectives.
- Skillfully communicate insights, recommendations, and improvement ideas to FCC Team leadership in a professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in blockchain tracing across different chains.
- Expertise in Fiat fraud case handling.
- Understanding of various layer 1s, smart contracts, staking pools, etc.
- Strong writing and presentation abilities.
- Hands-on experience in reviewing transaction monitoring alerts and conducting detailed case investigations.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Certification in investigations from TRM Labs, Chainalysis, or Elliptic.
- Familiarity with platforms like Sentilink or LexisNexis Threatmetrix.
- Prior exposure to regulated digital asset or Financial Institution compliance.
