Member of Technical Staff, Technical Program Management
We are seeking an Engineering Lead to take charge of and lead our Enterprise Technology department. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing three essential components—IT Support, Systems Engineering, and IT Automation—while also maintaining a strong technical proficiency yourself. This position is hands-on, requiring you to architect our Google Workspace environment, establish our SaaS strategy, and construct a team that excels in providing exceptional internal support. By utilizing AI, you will revolutionize how support is provided and streamline workflows, identifying key opportunities to enhance the team's efficiency. Your responsibilities will include ensuring our enterprise systems are prepared for audits, maintaining seamless operations, and ensuring that our technology investments yield tangible returns.

Technical Skills:
- Develop and oversee the strategy for our Google Workspace environment, focusing on security configurations, policies, and optimization
- Manage our SaaS application portfolio and IAM practices, driving consolidation efforts and collaborating with Security on access governance
- Supervise our endpoint strategy across various platforms, including ChromeOS, Mac, and mobile devices, along with MDM administration
- Define and execute the automation roadmap for enterprise technology to leverage AI for scaling support and reducing manual tasks
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Lead and nurture a team encompassing IT Support, Systems Engineering, and IT Automation
- Spearhead cross-functional initiatives involving People, Security, and business stakeholders, balancing strategic vision with operational requirements
- Support IT audit and compliance processes by offering evidence, establishing self-service tools for evidence collection, and collaborating with the Security team on documentation needs
Organizational Knowledge:
- Collaborate with Security, People, and business units to design solutions that bridge organizational needs with technical implementations
- Establish team objectives, career development frameworks, and performance benchmarks to instill a culture of ownership and continuous enhancement
- Maintain profound operational expertise to inform strategic decisions and occasionally resolve escalated technical issues
Communication and Influence:
- Engage with stakeholders across both technical and non-technical teams to define requirements, grasp challenges, and align on priorities
- Establish documentation standards and communication frameworks to ensure transparency in team progress and initiatives
- Act as a visible, involved leader who embodies the technical expertise and customer focus expected from the team
- Foster trust cross-functionally through consistent delivery and transparent, open communication
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in managing technical teams, specifically in enterprise technology, IT operations, or systems engineering
- Proficiency in Google Workspace administration, with a strong grasp of security policies, organizational structures, Drive management, and identity
- Experience handling diverse SaaS portfolios, including managing vendor relationships, optimizing licenses, and leading consolidation projects
- Sound understanding of IAM principles and experience in implementing access governance frameworks
- Proven track record of steering cross-functional technical initiatives from inception to completion
- Previous exposure to regulated industries or environments with significant compliance requirements
- Proactive mindset with the ability to independently devise solutions in ambiguous settings and take responsibility for results
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Apps Script for developing custom automations
- Familiarity with Jira administration, ServiceNow, or similar ITSM platforms
- Background in MDM platforms such as Kandji or Jamf
- Experience in hardware deployment processes or managing physical office IT infrastructure
- Previous involvement in automating employee lifecycle processes like onboarding, offboarding, and transfers
- Experience in establishing IT teams from scratch or navigating through substantial growth phases
Location:
This position is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days per week in our NYC office to promote collaboration and enhance team visibility.
