Job Requirements:
The role of Pipeline Technical Director involves supporting users in utilizing 3rd party DCC's such as Nuke, as well as proprietary Flawless products. Responsibilities include addressing application issues, integrating DCC apps into pipelines, developing tools for content ingestion and delivery, and maintaining Python scripts to streamline workflows efficiently.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of film post-production, proficiency in Python programming, familiarity with Linux systems, and experience in software lifecycle management. Further qualifications that would be advantageous include knowledge of production management systems like ShotGrid, and experience with film image pipeline libraries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing user support for 3rd Party DCC’s like Nuke and DaVinci Resolve.
- Overseeing proprietary Flawless products and pipeline.
- Identifying and resolving application issues by working closely with relevant product teams.
- Continuously improving the integration of DCC apps within the pipeline.
- Developing tools for content ingestion and delivery.
- Creating and managing Python scripts to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Supporting media and asset management across the pipeline utilizing cloud-based infrastructure.
- Establishing and maintaining support workflows to address recurring issues effectively.
Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of film post-production pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Awareness of security protocols for handling sensitive media content.
- Experience working with Linux systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing software lifecycle, production releases, and version control.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and debugging skills in a production environment.
- Previous experience in a support capacity.
- Ability to communicate technical issues effectively to creative users.
- Familiarity with production/content management systems and versioning tools such as ShotGrid and Ftrack.
- Experience using common film image pipeline libraries such as OTIO, OIIO, and OCIO.
- Competency in DCC-specific APIs like Nuke and Resolve.
- Knowledge of film color pipelines, including ACES workflows.
- Experience in working with cloud infrastructure providers like AWS and GCP.
